Moulin de Broaille
We are Alain and Evelien, a Flemish couple from Ghent. In the spring of 2010, after years of dreaming, we took the step towards the Burgundy region in France. We fell in love with an old watermill from the 18th century in the village of Issy-l’Evêque. We have renovated this watermill into a stylish and cozy chambres d’hotes. The Somme winds through our domain of 1.6 ha. From the terraces you can enjoy the rippling waterfalls, the tranquility and the natural spectacle of passing birds, brightly colored butterflies and dragonflies.
In the evening you have the option to join for dinner, prepared with care and fresh products by your hostess.
The mill
Moulin de Broaille is a historic monument: an old watermill, typical of the Burgundy region. The history of the mill dates back to the 17th century. The mill was carefully renovated with a modern touch while maintaining the typical old elements. You will stay in a stylish historical context with contemporary comfort.
The technical room of the watermill has been replaced by a dining room with bar and relaxation room with a pool table.
The garden & the swimming pool
The Somme winds through our domain of 1.6 ha. On the terrace overlooking the waterfalls you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning. After an exciting, relaxing day you can enjoy the last rays of the sun in the evening at dinner. You can relax in one of our idyllic spots. In a hammock under a tree you can enjoy a nice glass of pastis or a delicious glass of Burgundy wine.
You can relax at our heated organic swimming pool (with salt water) of 4x10m and the cozy pool house with honesty bar.
